Why Kavela

Deliberate by Design

Reading-Led Format

Material is studied before each session. Group time is used for discussion, not delivery — which means conversations go deeper than a lecture format allows.

Small, Considered Cohorts

Kavela deliberately limits enrolment. Every workshop runs with between six and twelve participants, keeping discussion genuine and the facilitator engaged with each person.

No Products, No Advice

Kavela programmes are purely educational. No financial products are promoted, and no regulated advice is offered. Participants develop their own thinking, supported by structured material.

Singapore-Specific Context

Reading materials draw on Singapore's retirement income structure, CPF vocabulary, and local household patterns — not overseas frameworks that need translation before they're useful.

Printed Materials Included

Each programme includes a set of physical materials — workbooks, reference cards, or reading binders — produced to sit comfortably in a home study or on a desk.

Paced for Working Adults

Weekend workshops and monthly cohort meetings fit around professional schedules. Follow-up sessions are spaced quarterly so that reflection can happen at its own pace.

A Place to Start

Is This the Right Moment to Begin?

Many of the adults who join Kavela programmes say that they wished they had found a structured, pressure-free space to work through these topics a decade earlier. The workshops are open now. Cohort places are small and filled by enquiry.

Questions

Things People Often Ask

Who are these programmes designed for?
Kavela programmes are designed for adults in Singapore aged roughly 40 and above — typically those who are working, who have household responsibilities, and who are beginning to think more carefully about what the next decade or two looks like from a financial literacy perspective. No prior knowledge of financial topics is required or assumed.
Do you give financial advice during the sessions?
No. Kavela is an educational provider. Our facilitators lead reading discussion and structured reflection exercises; they do not provide regulated financial advice, and they do not recommend specific financial products. Participants are always encouraged to consult a licensed financial adviser for advice suited to their personal circumstances.
How do I join a workshop or reading series?
Send us an enquiry using the contact form below or call our office directly. We will let you know about upcoming cohort dates and availability. Because cohort sizes are small, we work on a first-replied-to, first-placed basis.
Where are the sessions held?
Sessions take place at our space at The Central in Eu Tong Sen Street, Singapore — a quiet, well-served location accessible from Clarke Quay MRT. Specific room details are confirmed with participants after enrolment.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask participants to confirm their place at least 10 working days before the programme start date. Cancellations received before this point may transfer to a future cohort. Cancellations received after this date are assessed individually; please contact us directly to discuss your situation.
Are the reading materials available to keep?
Yes. All printed materials — workbooks, reference cards, binders, and scenario cards — are yours to keep. They are produced with the intention of remaining useful long after the programme ends.
Is personal information shared with third parties?
Kavela collects only the information needed to administer programme enrolment and to send relevant updates. We do not sell personal data. Our privacy practices are set out in detail in our Privacy Policy.
