2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an enquiry through this website, completing an enrolment form, or attending a Kavela programme, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, please do not submit an enquiry or enrol in a programme.
You confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement. Our programmes are designed for adults aged 40 and above; participation by younger adults is at our discretion.
3. Description of Services
Kavela offers structured educational programmes delivered as workshops and reading series. These include:
- Saving Habits Framework Workshop — a two-day, workbook-based weekend workshop (S$140)
- Late-Career Income Planning Reading Series — a six-month, cohort-based reading programme (S$640)
- Family Money Conversations Workshop — a weekend, dialogue-based workshop (S$280)
All programmes are educational in nature. They do not constitute financial advice, regulated financial planning services, or any form of investment guidance. Nothing in programme materials or sessions should be construed as a recommendation regarding any financial product, service, or transaction.
Programmes are delivered in Singapore and are conducted in English. Availability is subject to cohort formation and minimum enrolment numbers.
4. Enrolment and Participation
Enrolment process
Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of full payment and a written confirmation from Kavela. Submitting an enquiry does not constitute enrolment or guarantee a place in a cohort.
Cohort sizes
Programmes are conducted in small cohorts: 8–12 participants for the Saving Habits workshop, 12 for the Reading Series, and 6–10 for the Family Conversations workshop. Kavela reserves the right to decline enrolments if a cohort is full.
Attendance
Regular attendance is expected. For workshops, participants are expected to attend both days. For the Reading Series, attendance at monthly sessions supports the cohort discussion format. Kavela does not issue attendance certificates, completion credentials, or accreditations of any kind.
5. Participant Responsibilities
- Treat facilitators and fellow participants with courtesy and respect
- Keep cohort discussions confidential — information shared by other participants should not be disclosed outside the session
- Engage with reading and preparatory materials in advance where provided
- Refrain from recording sessions without prior written consent from Kavela
- Not share, reproduce, or distribute programme materials without permission
Kavela reserves the right to ask a participant to withdraw from a programme if their conduct is disruptive or harmful to other participants. In such circumstances, a partial refund may be considered at our discretion.
6. Intellectual Property
All programme materials, session frameworks, workbooks, reading guides, and website content are the intellectual property of Kavela. Participants are granted a limited, non-transferable licence to use materials for personal educational purposes only.
Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, resold, or adapted without prior written consent from Kavela. This includes digital photographs or summaries shared on public platforms.
7. Fees, Payment, and Refunds
Programme fees
All fees are quoted in Singapore Dollars (SGD) inclusive of applicable taxes. Payment is due in full at the time of enrolment confirmation unless a written instalment arrangement has been agreed.
Refund policy
- Cancellation more than 14 days before programme commencement: full refund, less an administrative fee of S$20.
- Cancellation 7–14 days before commencement: 50% refund of the programme fee.
- Cancellation fewer than 7 days before commencement, or non-attendance without prior notice: no refund.
If Kavela cancels or reschedules a programme, enrolled participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a future cohort.
Transfers
A participant may transfer their enrolment to another person with Kavela's prior approval, provided the transfer is requested at least 7 days before commencement and the replacement participant meets any stated eligibility criteria.
8. Disclaimers
Kavela's programmes are provided as educational content only. We do not hold any licence under the Financial Advisers Act (Cap. 110) or the Securities and Futures Act (Cap. 289) of Singapore, and we do not provide regulated financial advice in any form.
Programme content reflects publicly available educational information and is not tailored to any individual's financial circumstances, tax position, or investment objectives. Participants should seek advice from appropriately licensed professionals for personal financial decisions.
Kavela does not warrant that programme content is accurate, current, or complete for any particular purpose. Educational discussions in sessions represent facilitators' views based on publicly available sources, not professional advice.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, Kavela's total liability to any participant arising from or in connection with a programme or this Website — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise — shall not exceed the fee paid by that participant for the relevant programme.
Kavela shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from participation in a programme or use of this Website, including any financial decisions made in reliance on educational content.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Termination
A participant may withdraw from a programme at any time, subject to the refund terms set out in section 7. Kavela may withdraw a participant from a programme with immediate effect if they breach these Terms, in which case refund eligibility will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability shall survive termination of this Agreement.
11. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. In the event of a dispute, we encourage participants to contact us first at [email protected] so that we can seek to resolve the matter informally.
If informal resolution is not achieved within 30 days of written notice, either party may refer the matter to mediation through the Singapore Mediation Centre before commencing legal proceedings. Any legal proceedings shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
12. General Provisions
- Entire agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between Kavela and the participant regarding programmes and use of this Website.
- Severability: If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remainder of the Terms will continue in force.
- Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce it in future.
- Assignment: Participants may not assign their rights under these Terms without Kavela's prior written consent. Kavela may assign its rights in connection with a business transfer.
- Notices: Written notices under these Terms should be sent to [email protected] or to our registered address.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When material changes are made, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify enrolled participants by email. Continued participation in a programme following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
